I’m a big fan of Kevin Devine’s Bright Eyesy anxious whiskey-fueled, guitar based thoughts. Set against an urgent, melodic backdrop, Devine is a personal and political poetic soul on the cusp of finding truth through his obvious ability to see - although it may take him awhile due to a self-sabotaging, selfish streak.
There in lies the magic.
Dropped by Capitol last year, Kevin is now on Procrastinate! Music Traitors, and re-released Put Your Ghost To Rest in April. New record coming end of ‘08.
