The Little Ones - “Face the Facts
Words are full of meaning
Words can be screaming
The truth lies somewhere within
Syntax, though clever, is never etched in stone and never hidden from sin

The Little Ones - “Ordinary Song
Ordinary Song is the new UK single, just dropped 1.21. Love the layering, I close my eyes when I listen to this track and focus on one element at a time.

I want to go see Cut Copy at Mercury Lounge on 3/17 but it’s annoyingly sold out. Shouldn’t there be a neighbor pre-sale?

Cut Copy- “Future”

Let’s face it. With my bad luck lately, even if I did get tickets the night would probably go down like this.

We Are Scientists is a great Brooklyn break-out band on Virgin that can’t seem to get traction in the US - despite clever songs with great hooks and beats, an energetic live show and being generally hilarious and adorable. Why don’t I live in England where they are releasing WAS’ new album on March 17? Thank God for imports.

Anyway, here is We Are Scientist’s new video for “After Hours” - 98% guarantee you will fall in love with the band. Full screen this!

P.S. Doesn’t that girl look like Julie from Growing Pains?

I love me some Ryan Adams. I know he’s all broken and emo and spent so much time using and running all lost and half his work is genius and half is crap, but honestly, who isn’t like that when you really stop to think about it?

Ryan’s breakup with Jessica Joffe (the redhead credited with cleaning his ass up) is fueling his latest heartache - this week he’s been posting videos and romantic poems about her across the internet. He’s always arguably prolific, and now he’s working with a new medium, feverishly creating and posting videos. Tons here, including an loveable and earnest bio. Here are a few gems from the past three days.

Manic, called “Why Heartache Wins”

Fun!, called “I am Holding A Crystal Ball!”

Like a little digital miner I unearth a harpsichord and strings gem.

R.E.M’s “Half a World Away” has had power rotation with me since Out of Time came out (sidenote: always thought this sound would have flowed better on Green).

Here is the band breaking down my jam on the BBC Late Show No Nirvana circa 1991. Turn it up and sing along like I always do.

My mind is racing
As it always will
My hand is tired, my heart aches
I’m half a world away

Hilarious.

Also good, the daily David Lynch weather report at 8:50a on Indie 103 in LA.

The Happiest Day of His Life is a clever, role-reversal short film from last year that subtly challenges gender roles and traditions.

It is colorful, poptastic and approaches the subject with a sense of humor.
